Cycle 2 Career Spotlight: Phlebotomy
This week, Associates in our Phlebotomy career pathway put their skills into practice during a hands-on blood draw lab. Ms. Masters, our Program Director, and Ms. Meders, our Lead Instructor, volunteered as test subjects, giving Associates the opportunity to perform real-world procedures in a supervised classroom setting.

From preparing equipment and following safety protocols to communicating clearly and calmly with their patients, each Associate showed how much they have already learned in a short time!

The Phlebotomy program is one of our newest career pathways added as our program expands, and this lab highlighted exactly why it is such a valuable addition. Phlebotomy offers Associates a direct pathway into the healthcare field, providing in-demand skills that can lead to meaningful employment immediately after graduation, and continued education opportunities.

Hands-on experiences like this are a cornerstone of the Sooner Job ChalleNGe model. By combining classroom instruction with practical application, Associates are gaining the confidence, competence, and professionalism needed to succeed in the workforce. We are proud of our Associates and excited to see them continue to grow and prepare for the future!
