Important Dates

In-Processing/Day 1: August 8, 2025.

Pass Dates [pickup and dropoff times]:

    • Labor Day Pass: 8/29 [10am] - 9/1 [3pm]
    • Weekend Pass: 9/26 [10am] - 9/28 [3pm]
    • Fall Break Pass: 10/10 [10am] - 10/19 [3pm]
    • Thanksgiving Pass: 11/21 [10am] - 11/30 [3pm]
    • Weekend Pass: 12/5 [10am] - 12/7 [3pm]
    • Weekend Pass: 12/12 [10am] - 12/14 [3pm]

*Early pickup may be arranged on Thursday evenings in advance if absolutely necessary. Additional passes may be added or approved for job interviews, college and career fairs, or at staff discretion.

Graduation: Job ChalleNGe is a 10-22 week, self-paced program. Graduation/send-off dates will be unique for each Associate.

Contacting Your Associate

While Associates will have periodic access to their cell phones, we do not have a set phone schedule. Associates will begin the cycle with anywhere from zero to limited access to their cell phones, and will be given more time as they continue in the program.

If the reason for your call is not an emergency, it is best to save the conversation for a time when Associates have their phone.
Our goal is to manage screen time and break bad habits with phone usage so our Associates can focus on their mental and physical health, education, and career training.

Contacting Staff

When you call the main SJC number, you will be given several phone menu options. It is best to contact the department responsible for the reason you are calling.

  • Ext. 2 - Medical & Health Services

    Contact our Medical Coordinator to discuss health concerns, health insurance, prescription changes or refills, to arrange drop-off of prescriptions or medical equipment, to coordinate medical appointments, or to notify SJC of documented changes to diet restrictions or allergies.

    Contact our Operations Team to coordinate Associate pick-up and drop off, drop-off of non-medical items, and for emergency reasons outside of normal business hours.

Note: We are available to answer your questions and concerns and encourage family support! However, keep in mind that we are also preparing Associates for independent adulthood. We encourage parents, guardians, and family members to partner with your Associate and our team to find a balance between supporting your Associate and empowering them to take initiative and advocate for themselves.

Dropping Off Items

Please call staff at least 1 day in advance before visiting campus to drop off items. If you arrive without advance notice, we cannot guarantee the correct staff member will be available to receive your items.

Checking Out Associates

Note: Some classes and activities are required for graduation and cannot be missed.

  • Medical Reasons: Please call our Medical Coordinator before scheduling medical appointments. There are certain days and times that are easier for Associates to miss than others.

Health Services

Your Associate's safety and care are our top priority! We have nurses on campus during business hours to care for and assess Associates. After hours, we have access to a local Urgent Care. Health Services coordinates all details of Associate healthcare, prescription medication, and appointments.

Note: Medication drop-offs must be coordinated with Health Services in advance.
